Artist statement

My name is Mary-Kate Deves and I'm a freshman at Blue Valley West High School. Some of my favorite things to do are hanging out with my friends, baking, and playing volleyball. I took photography this semester and I have loved it so far. I chose to take it because I have never done anything like it and it seemed really interesting. I have enjoyed learning how to properly take photos using a real camera and I also liked learning about the process of it all and all the chemicals you have to use to actually see your pictures. My favorite things to photograph are things in nature and old rustic looking things because when you have good lighting, your pictures will turn out amazing. It's really fun to go out and find really cool places and things to take pictures of and I really have liked it this semester.
